Secunderabad Cantonment Board Election for Corporators has been announced for 18th May. I went around helping one independent candidate to canvass/campaign. She does not belong to any political party and has no money for election campaign. But appears committed to do social work. Along with my friend we went around some thirty houses canvassing votes for her.

I can’t believe I picked up some rubbish/ garbage on public property - an unsightly mess blown into a bush by the winter winds - and disposed of it into appropriate recycling bins.

My good deed for today is to post this lovely story & hope you enjoy it (adapted from "The Star Thrower" by Loren Eiseley, 1907-1977): "At night I walked along the shore where so many spend the day gathering shells for their collections. A woman walked among the starfishes that waves and tide had stranded on the beach, picking up each tenderly and casting it out to sea. I caught up to her and asked, 'With so many millions left dying along these sands night after night after night, what difference can you possibly make?' She scooped up another and arched it high over the water. 'I made a difference for that one.' Silently I sought and picked up a still-living star, spinning it far out into the waves."

A good deed was done to me today: the accountants that I hired for my small business were being really incompetent and a bunch of idiots whose mistake would have seriously caused some cash problems, and was causing some stress. A friend, who is a qualified accountant herself, offered to help out and talk to the taxman on my behalf in spite of her busy schedule. Because of what she did, I am now able to go back to my accountants to sort the matter out and am able to get back to work with confidence and peace of mind again.

A lipstick fell out of a lady's handbag as she was getting up to get off the train, so I picked it up and handed it to her.

I was in the cheese section of the supermarket and an elderly lady asked me where the Philadelphia cream cheese was. As there are so many varieties, I thought it best to take her there and help her make her selection.
