I was on a crowded train and a heavily pregnant woman got on. I was not seated, but everyone who was just stuck their noses in their newspapers and pretended that she wasn't there. I got so cross that I shouted across the train "Excuse me. Do any of you think that you would be able to give your seat up for this obviously pregnant woman?" I felt a bit of an idiot, but she got a seat and heaved a big sigh of relief when she sat down.
